2024 Kia Forte: What Research Do You Need to Know?

Kia offers a range of vehicles that hit every price point to ensure any buyer gets what they need. One great option for budget buyers is the 2024 Kia Forte. Known for its spacious cabin and sporty design, the Forte goes beyond what you expect to see in a compact sedan. The LX has some standard features and a lower price tag to help you follow your budget, while the GT adds more sporty elements to make you love driving around Woodbridge. We did the research you'll want to know as you shop for a new Kia Forte.

Interior/Exterior

Both the interior and the exterior have enough features to make the Forte more than just a basic compact sedan. Outside are 15-inch steel wheels that are different from the alloy wheels found on the higher trims. Each one has a full cover. Kia added projector beam headlights and daytime running lights as well as power side mirrors. Inside are manual seats with cloth upholstery and a spacious cabin with a large dash for the infotainment system and instrument panel.

Trim Levels

The Forte comes in five trims for 2024:

  • Choose the Forte LX to get budget-friendly features like an audio system with four speakers, lane-keeping assist, and a rearview monitor.
  • Go with the LXS to enjoy improved features, such as soft trim pieces on the doors, split folding rear seats, and 16-inch wheels.
  • Some of the upgrades found on the GT-Line include LED daytime running lights and taillights, alloy sport pedals, LED turn signals inside of the heated side mirrors, and a bigger touchscreen.
  •   The Forte GT features a different engine, illuminated vanity mirrors, a rear USB port, 18-inch wheels, and much more.
  • Consider the GT Manual for a Forte that is more fun to drive around [GEO] with a six-speed manual transmission, Harman Kardon audio system, and heated front seats.

Performance

Most Forte models have a 2.0L I4 engine that gives you 147 horsepower and 132 pounds of torque. Though we wish it had a little more oomph, this engine is serviceable as it hits 60 mph in around eight seconds. Kia claims the engine averages 30 to 41 mpg. Both the GT and the GT Manual swap out this engine for a 1.6L turbo model. Not only does it bump the horsepower up to 201, but it delivers 195 pounds of torque. The main change between the two is that the GT has a dual-clutch seven-speed auto transmission, while the GT Manual has a six-speed manual transmission. Both take under seven seconds to reach 60 mph and get a combined 26 to 27 mpg.

Technology

With an eight-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch instrument panel, the Forte lets you use apps, check your gas gauge, and use either screen in seconds. The Forte also comes standard with four speakers, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Drivers like the addition of a charging port, too.

Safety

Lane-keeping assist is just one of the safety features worth using. It works on its own and with the lane following assist. While the rear occupant alert helps you stay aware of your passengers, the driver attention warning ensures you keep your eyes on the road. The 2024 Forte also has forward collision avoidance assist that uses pedestrian detection to reduce your risk of hitting cars or people. You even get a rear-view monitor that projects lane guidance markings onto your screen.
